DLaTGS – InfraTec Starts New PYRONEER Series

Until today, pyroelectric detectors for analytical devices from InfraTec were based exclusively on high-quality, single-crystalline lithium tantalate (LiTaO3). Now InfraTec has enhanced its detector portfolio in the field of FTIR spectroscopy with the high-performance, pyroelectrically sensitive material DLaTGS (deuterated L-alanine doped triglycine sulphate) and thus provides the performance boost for FTIR spectroscopy.

The LIM‐082 – A Detector That Sets New Standards

With the LIM‐082, for the first time InfraTec offers a beam splitter detector in a TO39 housing in current mode. In addition to the internal beam splitter, the latest model in the PYROMID® series also has an integrated operational amplifier.

PyrIQ® Digital Detectors – Detector Configuration in Just a Few Steps

The PyrIQ® Evaluation Kit from InfraTec supports customers in the initial testing of the digital PyrIQ® detectors without the otherwise required development of software, firmware and test circuits. The associated software allows the detector and IR source parameters to be set via an intuitive graphical user interface.

Pyroelectric Detectors in Pulmonary Diagnostics

Vyaire Medical develops devices for the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of respiratory diseases. Alongside our other products, we can provide a spiroergometric system for lung function diagnostics, such as the VyntusTM CPX. Integrated into the VyntusTM CPX is the pyroelectric detector LMM-242 from InfraTec.

The Chemical Threats Detective

RedWave Technologies builds products to protect communities and countries from accidental and intentional chemical threats. The handheld and portable FTIR spectrometers from RedWave with integrated pyroelectric detectors from InfraTec are used to identify unknown chemicals by safety professionals and emergency response personnel. Unknown chemical spills and releases can come from transportation accidents, industrial accidents, residential and industrial fires, or other catastrophic events.

The infrared sensor division produces custom-made components on more than 1.600 m² of clean room space – especially pyroelectrical infrared detectors – for clients worldwide. The product range includes analogue single and multi-channel detectors as well as digital multi-channel detectors (PyrIQ). The detectors are used, for example, in gas analysis, fire and flame sensors and spectroscopy.

Applic­a­tions of Infrared Detectors

A pyroelectric detector with its high long-term stability can be used for accurate measurements of infrared radiation. As a thermal detector, it possesses (unlike semiconductor detectors) a very broad spectral sensitivity from 100 nm to about 1,000 µm and requires no cooling. Pyroelectric detectors are powerful thermal infrared detectors that can measure signals up to the kilohertz range. Short pulses can be detected up to a few microseconds.
